From Address Restrictions

The From Address Restrictions feature of your LeadSquared CRM allows you to restrict a specific user role from sending Emails on behalf of the Lead Owner or any other LeadSquared user. This means that the feature allows you to restrict specific user roles from using their Lead owner’s or any other LeadSquared user’s Email address in the From Address field of one-to-one Emails, Email Campaigns, Bulk Emails and so on.

Example

Consider that a Lead ‘Sam’ is owned by ‘Ethan William’ who is an administrator of your LeadSquared system. If Ethan tries to send a one-to-one Email to Sam, the From field of the Email Editor allows you to select other users of your LeadSquared system as well which in turn allows you to send Emails on behalf of other users. Please see the below image for reference.

The From Address Restrictions allows you restrict send Emails on behalf of the Lead Owner and other users.

Prerequisite

  • You should be logged into your LeadSquared CRM.
  • You should be an administrator user of your LeadSquared CRM.

Procedure

How to Access the From Address Restrictions Settings?

restrictions window

This pop-up lists the different User Roles of LeadSquared and the different restrictions you can enable to restrict sending Email on behalf of other LeadSquared users. The different setting are explained below:

  • Restrict Lead Owner – If enabled, restricts the corresponding LeadSquared user role from sending Emails on behalf of the Lead Owner of the corresponding Lead.
  • Restrict Other Users – If enabled, restricts the corresponding LeadSquared user role from sending Emails on behalf of the other users in your LeadSquared CRM like Administrator, Marketing User, Sales Manager or Sales User.

The restricted users are not able to send Emails on behalf of the Lead Owner or other LeadSquared users, once the required restrictions are enabled.

Example

Consider that a Lead ‘Sam’ is owned by ‘Ethan William’ who is a marketing user of your LeadSquared system. You have enabled the “Restrict Lead Owner” and “Restrict Other Users” restrictions for marketing users from the From Address Restrictions settings. When Ethan tries to send a one-to-one Email to Sam, the From field of the Email displays only the Email Address of the user that has logged in, that is Ethan. Ethan is unable to select any other Email address from the From field of the Email editor.
